2026 IIJL WJLC - Jack Higgins — Player Feature

Jack Higgins

Jack Higgins – 2026 Team Captain

Leadership has been a defining part of Jack Higgins' journey with the program. After serving as Assistant Captain in 2024 and representing the team at the WJLC since 2023, Higgins was named Captain for 2026, a reflection of the respect he has earned from teammates, coaches, and staff alike.

A steady communicator and natural leader, Higgins leads through both his words and his actions. His calm presence helps set the tone in high-pressure moments, while his team-first mentality makes him a trusted voice in the locker room. Whether mentoring younger players, reinforcing team standards, or helping maintain focus during tournaments, he consistently puts the success of the group ahead of individual recognition.

On the floor, Higgins provides the reliability every captain strives to embody. His versatility allows coaches to deploy him in a variety of situations, and his willingness to take on difficult assignments demonstrates a leadership style built on accountability and example. His disciplined approach, strong decision-making, and composure under pressure help bring stability to the lineup and confidence to those around him.

A member of the ABL program since 2023, Higgins has represented Australia and South Australia at both national and international competitions, including the World Junior Lacrosse Championship and the IIJL Commonwealth Cup.

That experience has helped shape him into a leader who understands what it takes to compete at the highest level while guiding others through those same challenges.

Standing 6'5", Higgins uses his size and reach effectively on the defensive end, but his greatest strength may be his ability to unite a team. As the 2026 captain, he serves as a locker-room anchor, a dependable presence in every situation, and a player who embodies the values and culture of the program.

His leadership, consistency, and commitment to the team make him one of the cornerstones of the 2026 squad.
