2026 IIJL Women's World Junior Lacrosse Championship taking place in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada

We are pleased to invite female players to register for selection to represent Australia at the 2026 IIJL Women's World Junior Lacrosse Championship, to be held at the Servus Sports Centre, Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, from 2 July to 5 July 2026. After missing 2025 we are looking to start a "New Tradition" for Womens Box Lacrosse.

This Championship presents a valuable opportunity for junior female athletes to:

2024 WWJLC Team

  • Compete on an international stage.
  • Gain experience that supports athletic and personal development.
  • Build international sporting relationships that promote sportsmanship and cultural exchange.

Event highlights

  • Minimum four (4) guaranteed games.
  • Full-length game, four (4) 15-minute quarters officiated under international box lacrosse rules
  • This is the only place to gain valuable "real" game experience against focused and trained international box lacrosse opponents
  • Competing teams (confirmed): Australia, Canada, Haudenosaunee, United States.

 Key information and next steps

  • Eligibility: Female players aged up to 22 years. Permission may be sought for eligible 23‑year‑olds where tournament regulations allow.
  • Registration fee: AUD 30 (required of all applicants).

  • Selection timeline: Selections will be announced on 22/04/2026.
  • Estimated team budget: Approximately AUD 3,500. A detailed budget will be provided within two weeks. This estimate is intended to cover accommodation, team training, and related in‑country expenses. It excludes international airfare, travel insurance, medical insurance, and meals.
  • Travel guidance: Players are advised to plan arrival in Lethbridge, Alberta by 30 June 2026, for Championship preparations.
  • Selection: The selection process will commence shortly. Applicants will be notified of selection criteria and other key milestones in due course
