2026 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship taking place in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada

We are pleased to invite junior athletes to register for selection to represent Australia at the 2026 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, from 28/06/2026 – 03/07/2026.

Following the 2026 IIJL Commonwealth Cup, we are now preparing for the WJLC. This Championship is an excellent opportunity for junior players to:

2025 WJLC AUSTRALIA

  • Compete on an international stage.
  • Gain experience that supports athletic and personal development.
  • Build international sporting relationships and promote sportsmanship and cultural exchange.

Event highlights

  • Minimum four (4) guaranteed games.
  • Full-length games: four 15-minute quarters, officiated under international box lacrosse rules.
  • Venue: 5,000-seat, state-of-the-art arena.
  • Competing teams (confirmed): Australia, Canada, Haudenosaunee, Japan, Poland, United States.

Key information & next steps

  • Eligibility: Junior players aged up to 22 years. Permission may be sought for eligible 23‑year‑olds where tournament regulations allow.
  • Registration fee: AUD 30 (required of all applicants).

  • Selection timeline: Selections will be announced on 20/04/2026.
  • Estimated team budget: Approximately AUD 3,500. A detailed budget will be provided within two weeks. This estimate covers accommodation, team training, and in-country ground expenses. It excludes international airfare, travel insurance, medical insurance, and meals.
  • Travel guidance: Players are advised to arrive in Calgary, Alberta by 25/06/2026, with onward transfer to Lethbridge for Championship preparations.
  • Selection: The selection process will commence shortly. Applicants will be notified of selection criteria and key milestones in due course.
