AUSTRALIA NAME ASSISTANT COACH FOR 2024 WOMEN’S WORLD JUNIORS

ADELAIDE, SOUTH AUSTRALIA, AUSTRALIA - Australian Box Lacrosse is pleased to announce and welcome Rebecca (Bec) Halloran as Assistant Coach for the Australian team that will compete at the 2024 IIJL Women’s World Junior Lacrosse Championship in Utica, New York from August 29- September 2, 2024.

Bec Halloran is from the Burnside Lacrosse Club and is LA Level 1 Club Coach who has coached women’s field Lacrosse at junior and senior levels, winning the U15 Premiership 2021.

Bec also was Assistant Coach for the SA U15 Lightning Team in 2023 and was a selector for SA’s U18 team in 2024.

Her playing history includes state level Juniors and Seniors in field lacrosse, and she has been a member of the SA State women’s Box Lacrosse team in 2023 and 2024.

Bec first saw Box Lacrosse as a15 year old when playing U21 Soft Lacrosse for SA against the Vics. Halloran said she knew then that Box was the game for her! “Decades later and now having played for two years I can say with complete certainty that sentiment remains true”.

Coaching this new discipline of lacrosse does see her sitting slightly outside her comfort zone, however, Bec is a firm believer that success comes with getting comfortable at being uncomfortable, “I’m really looking forward to learning from, and working with, Dan Hall and I’m so excited to help give these young women the opportunity that wasn’t available to me at their age.”
